Meet Ben
“An abnormal reaction to an abnormal situation is normal behavior.”
– Victor Frankl
I am Ben (he/him), a licensed clinical social worker accepting clients in the Madison area.
As a newcomer to the state, I am excited to start work with adults, teens, and families in our community! My areas of focus are depression, anxiety, trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and phobias. I also have experience working with clients experiencing suicidal ideation, life transitions, and emotional regulation concerns
I enjoy engaging with clients who are willing to try something new and want to make a change for the better, regardless of how severe or challenging their concerns are. I apply a strengths-based perspective to my work with clients. This means that I focus on what my clients are capable of and how those capabilities may help their current situation in addition to treating
symptoms of the mental health condition. Specifically, I have training and experience using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and somatic therapy in my work.
Regardless of what approach we take, it is important to me that my clients are well-informed and able to be participants in the therapeutic process.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, board gaming, motorcycling, and reading. I am also exploring the trails and waterways of Dane County when the weather is fair.
