“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer,”
– Albert Camus
Stress and trauma are not a result of failing to be good enough, tough enough, or doing enough self-care. They are human responses to a world that can often feel overwhelming and unsupportive. When we struggle with stress, anxiety, and trauma, it can impact our relationships, sense of self, and ability to function in everyday life. Joshua works with adults and couples to navigate these difficulties in ways that honor each person’s unique experiences, focusing on understanding the relationship between the individual and the source of their stress or trauma — not treating the person as the problem.
Joshua’s goal is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and intersectional space where people feel safe, heard, and supported. He values creating an environment that affirms individuals from a variety of identities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, whether in individual work or within the context of relationships.
Joshua is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor and has worked in the mental health field for more than 20 years. He earned Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Montana and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lakeland University. Joshua has received extensive training and certifications in Ethics, Trauma, Grief, PTSD, and Sexuality. He is also credentialed as a National Certified Counselor and has received recognition for his dedication to continuing education and professional development.
In addition to his clinical work, Joshua serves as the Clinical Director of the Golden Vibes Training Clinic, where he provides clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to therapists in training and early career clinicians. His goal within the clinic is to help therapists build sustainable, well-balanced careers that reduce burnout while providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community over the long term.
Joshua is a veteran, father, and husband who brings a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach to his work. He is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and has also consulted with the Tiny Homes Project.
Joshua is currently accepting new clients and offers short-notice appointments when available.
