Meet Shalynn
Hi there! My name is Shalynn (she/her), and I provide psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and families. I have over 8 years of experience supporting a range of needs, including anxiety, depression, life transitions and stressors, emotional regulation, trauma, and relationship concerns. I especially enjoy working with caregivers and supporting prenatal and postpartum well-being.
I am comfortable supporting neurodivergent clients, including individuals with ADHD and autism, and clients experiencing obsessive-compulsive symptoms. I am continuing to expand my clinical skills in these areas and will be completing training in December 2026 focused on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) skills and techniques, which I look forward to incorporating into my work with clients.
I am a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and am passionate about providing a safe place for everyone. It is an honor to be able to partner with and walk alongside folks on their journey.
I believe in being strengths-based and in the power of empathy. I use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that pulls from a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I also incorporate somatic work by utilizing grounding techniques, breath work, and body based regulation skills to support vagus nerve/nervous system regulation.
I enjoy fall activities, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. I have two young children and identify as a white, cis woman. I am an APSW with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ripon College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from UW-Madison.
